Children's Workforce Development Council

The Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) is a UK non-departmental public body set up in 2005 to support the implementation of the government's "Every Child Matters" strategy. It is part of Skills for Care and Development, the Sector Skills Council for social care, children and young people's workforces in the UK.[1] Among other things, the CWDC has been responsible for introducing Early Years Professional Status, as part of the government's aim to professionalise the early years workforce.
